Anatomy of an offer

What makes a great offer great ? many things, but often the bottom line is price, an Australia Apple from the supermarket costs $1.00 , from the corner shop .. $1.10, you may want to support your local shop but sometimes the extra few cents is important.

However as you are probably aware, with computers, things are rarely that simple.
Many chain stores advertise great looking deals, but you really need to look a little closer to see the meat in the sandwich.

Lets look  at a current 'DVD Burner 19" Special' from one of our `rustier` competitors, these specifications were taken form their website the same day this report was written.

Competitor `special` . With 19" LCD $899 , with 17" LCD $799

# AMD® Sempron 3200+ Processor
# 512MB DDR RAM
# 80GB Hard Disk Drive
# Onboard Shared Video Card
# 19" WIDESCREEN LCD Monitor
# PCI slots, DDR RAM slots, LAN port
# 6 x USB ver2.0 ports
# 16 x Dual-Layer DVD Burner Black Keyboard
# Optical Scroll Mouse

# 10/100Mbit Build-in Network Internal 56k Modem
# Stereo Speakers
# 36 Months Warranty on LCD Panel 12 Months Parts and Labour Warranty (RTB, tower Only)
# Windows Vista Home Basic (Installed & Supplied)
These specifications would have been OK.. 12 months ago, one would have expected a DVD burner special to at least have an 18x or 20x drive, 80GB drives cost about the same as 160GB drives so why 80's ?

I could pick this apart all day long, but really there is no need, just check out the specifications of our base model the tyro below.

Centurion Tyro class computer $999

# AMD Athlon dual core X4200 Processor (5 year warranty)

The Tyro class computer is our entry level system yet outclasses all other entry level systems we have seen to date.

So what does an extra $100 buy you ? , in this case a modern dual core CPU, name brand peripherals, double (soon to be treble) the hard drive capacity, double the memory, RAM that carries a lifetime warranty, a named/trusted brand motherboard.

The memory and components utilized are all selected to complement each other, not just the cheapest to hand.
The free award winning AntiVirus makes sure your machine is secure from day 1, our 2 year parts and labour warranty secures peace of mind.

Still seem like great value ?
This is but one example, there are many more and not only at entry level specifications, Centurion Computers build systems that are far and above the norm for quality in components, build quality and service.

Centurion build computer classes, so the specifications for a given class of machine will change (bigger, faster, better) over time, but a Tyro class computer will ALWAYS be the best quality-built entry level computer you can buy.
