USB cable types Five common USB connectors are shown in the image to the right, from top to bottom: male micro USB, male mini USB B-type, male B-type, female A-type, male A-typemicro and mini types are usually fond on phones, cameras, MP3 players and many other smaller devices. The square B-Type is generally found on printers and scanning devices. The regular A-Type can be found on a myriad of devices. Printer cables are normally B-Type female to A-Type male cables. How far ?As a rule of thumb, 5 meters is the longest USB connection you can use before requiring some form of repeater cable or USB hub. At centurion we have seen 20 meter connections possible with daisy chained USB repeater cables. |
