PC Internal Power Supplies

are vunerable to power surges irregular power issues, whilst they can outlive the rest of your computers components, it is not uncommon for them to fail

Luckily power supplies are relatively cheap and plentiful and generally easy to install.

Execptions are some small-form factor power supplies (typically found in Hewlett Packard's, & DEll & IBM home computers) which are a little more expensive annd can in some configurations be hard to source.

Silent Power.

A common complaint about computers is the amount of noise they make, if your computer makes a lot of noise then you have other problems, however if its just the whirring of the power-supply then a silent power supply (in reality they are just very quiet not silent) can be a low-cost upgrade option. Call PixelPushers to advise on whether your power-supply can be upgraded or not.

Power Surge Protectors & UPS's

can protect your power supply, indeed your whole computer from fluctuations in power, UPS's also, in the case of a blackout, power your computer for long enough to save your data , they normally also give a visual or audiable warning to let you know there is a power supply problem.
UPS's are however NOT generators , they only give you a limited amount of time to work.
