 Upgrades

The Centurion first IBM aptiva (mostly still working)

Is your computer upgradeable ?
Sadly with the rapid onset of technology older systems are getting harder if not impossible (and not financially viable) to upgrade, however its not all bad news, Hard Drives can be updated on almost all systems > 5-6 years old, and it is still possible to upgrade the memory of computers older than 2-3 years though due to supply and demand older types of memory are quite expensive.
If  you are not sure of the difference between computer memory and hard drives then be sure  check out our whatis pages.

Brand new DVD drives, LCD monitors etc can be added to almost any system.  Centurion can advise whether it is possible or economic to upgrade your computers hardware.

 Operating Systems

Upgrading your Operating system is possible if not always advisable, there is little point in installing an operating system on a computer that is not powerful enough to support it.
Centurion can advise on whether your computer is realistically up to an operating system upgrade, for instance Windows XP is painful on anything less than a 500Mhz CPU and 128MB memory, in fact 256MB of memory is probably a more realistic minimum, if your computer is older than this then really upgrading is not going to be economical for you, you will be far better off getting a new computer ... they are quite affordable !
